Concept
Maati is a smart gardening assistant that scans garden spaces for sunlight patterns, identifies pests and plant health using photo inputs, and offers zoning advice for optimal plant placement. It integrates care reminders, moodboard-style design inspiration, and a marketplace for supplies—creating a full-stack gardening ecosystem that’s both intelligent and human-centered.
Challenge
Urban gardening is gaining popularity, but many aspiring gardeners struggle with plant care due to lack of time, knowledge, or feedback on their plants’ health. Existing solutions are either too technical, expensive, or fragmented across apps and tools. How might we make home gardening more intuitive, engaging, and responsive?
Insight
Gardeners—especially beginners—often rely on trial and error, which can lead to frustration and plant loss. What they need is a supportive system that offers real-time insights, contextual advice, and a sense of connection with their plants. By combining visual data, behavioral feedback, and aesthetic inspiration, we can create a more holistic gardening experience.
